Built through the efforts of Warren Cartier, a local patriarch commemorated in parks and memorials throughout the area, this home stands out not only for its immaculate woodwork, but also the varieties of wood involved in that work.  Each room in the mansion has been finished with a different species of wood, including the foyer’s white oak, the mahogany of the music room, the rich cherry in the living room, sycamore furnishings in the dining room, and black walnut in the library and den.  The floors of each room have been painstakingly inlaid with intricate patterns stretching throughout the home.
